Presentation of the EuroMemorandum 2026 – WIPOL Academy 2025/26

The EuroMemorandum 2026 has the title „Aspects and implications of EU militarising. Alternatives for a Progressive Agenda“, and discusses current economic developments in the EU and beyond.
Besides the growing militarization of economies, the Memorandum takes a closer look at the current resurgence of market deregulation under the heading of improving global competitiveness and explores the linkages of both militarization and deregulation with a shift of the political axis to the right. It highlights that the EU’s response to the polycrisis is consistent with neoliberal, rather than social-oriented, goals.
After a brief presentation of the Euro Memorandum 2026, we will discuss the latest developments in the EU’s economic, industrial, and social policy, in a relaxed atmosphere with
Prof. Claudio Cozza (Co-Chair of EuroMemo Group, Prof. of Economic Policy, Naples)
Prof. Elisabeth Springler (head of the „European Economy and Corporate Management“ degree programme, economist, Vienna)
Sarah Bruckner (AK, expert in European Law, Vienna)
Hanna Braun (ATTAC, political scientist, Vienna)
as well as this year’s cohort of the WIPOL Academy.
The EuroMemorandum is a report published yearly by the EuroMemo Group, a network of European social scientists, mainly economists, as well as political scientists and legal scholars committed to promoting full employment with good work, social justice and inclusion, on the basis of ecological sustainability and international solidarity.
